Sony Xperia Pro-I with 1-Inch Camera Sensor launched: Specifications, Pricing

Sony unveiled the Xperia Pro-I today. A 1-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor with phase-detection autofocus is used in Sony's latest flagship smartphone. The Sony Xperia Pro-I sports a dedicated shutter button on the right spine, as well as Zeiss Tessar calibrated optics. The Sony flagship is powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor with 12GB of RAM. Sony has also released a Vlog Monitor, which can be used with the Sony Xperia Pro-I as an accessory.


The dual-SIM (Nano) Sony Xperia Pro-I comes pre-installed with Android 11. A 6.5-inch 4K HDR (3,840x1,644 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut is included. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protects the display, while Gorilla Glass 6 protects the back. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 12GB of RAM. The Xperia Pro-I has a triple rear camera configuration in terms of optics. The primary camera is a 12-megapixel 1-inch type Exmor RS sensor with a variable aperture range of f/2.0 to f/4.0.

A 12-megapixel 1/2.9-inch Exmor RS sensor with an f/2.4 aperture lens and a 12-megapixel 1/2.5-inch Exmor RS sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens are both included. Optical image stabilization is also available for the rear cameras (OIS). The Sony Xperia Pro-I has an 8-megapixel 1/4-inch sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens for selfies and video calls. The smartphone includes a dedicated shutter button as well as a shortcut key that can be customized to the user's liking. The new Sony Xperia flagship smartphone shoots 4K films at 120 frames per second in a 21:9 aspect ratio. It has a Cinematography Pro mode, which allows users to tweak numerous parameters.

The Vlog Monitor, which connects to the back of the Xperia Pro-I, serves as a supplementary display. The Sony Xperia Pro-I comes with 512GB of UFS storage and may be expanded with a microSDXC card (up to 1TB). The built-in speakers on the Sony smartphone also support Dolby Atmos. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6 with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, dual-band Wi-Fi with 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, Bluetooth v5.2, USB Type-C, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone port are all available connectivity choices.

A-GPS, A-GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS, and a fingerprint sensor are among the onboard sensors. It comes with a 4,500mAh battery that supports 30W rapid charging and can provide 50 percent battery life in 30 minutes. The Sony Xperia Pro-I has an IPX5 and IPX8 water resistance rating, as well as an IP6X dust resistance rating. The phone weighs 211 kilos and dimensions 166x72x8.9mm.


The Sony Xperia Pro-I is priced at $1,799.99 (roughly Rs. 216,374). The Sony Vlog Monitor will retail for $199.99 (roughly Rs. 24,041). The Xperia Pro-I will be available in only one color: Frosted Black.
