Report: WhatsApp for iOS plans to revamp chat list design in future update

WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, is preparing to update its chat user interface for Apple iOS devices. To do this, the program will declutter its interface by removing specific rows. The 'Broadcast Lists' and 'New Group' rows from the top of the chat list have been removed in the version 22.1.72 upgrade, according to WABetaInfo.

Users may start new groups by pressing the 'Start New Chat' button on the bottom right, which WhatsApp concedes has been available for years. The Broadcast option, on the other hand, will now have a similar entry point, appearing in the top-left corner of the pop-up.

The functionality will be included in a future update, although no date has been set yet. WhatsApp has also started testing a new feature on iOS that allows users to see their profile images in system alerts. The functionality will be available initially to iOS 15 users, and will include DPs in both individual and group chat alerts. The update is currently only available to beta testers.

In a similar development, iOS users will soon be able to distinguish between mentions and answers in group chats. If someone answers to you in the beta version, you'll get a push notice that says'sender name> 'Replied to you,' followed by the group name. Any group mentions, on the other hand, will be marked with 'Mentioned you' and @your name>.
