Nepal's largest Internet service provider, WorldLink Communications Limited, has agreed to help with policy research. The commitment of WorldLink to developing evidence-based policy and promoting entrepreneurship in Nepal is to assist Nepal.
With WorldLink's support, the commitment to provide innovation, cooperation, and entrepreneurship services will aid in three policy issues over the next three years. WorldLink and Daayitwa Nepal reached an agreement to provide three people with Daayitwa Nepal Policy Fellowships, with the participation of the relevant government ministries on 10 th of February, 2022. Mr. Dileep Agrawal, founder and director of WorldLink Communications Ltd., and Dr. Pukar Malla, founder of Daayitwa Nepal signed the policy research agreement.
The agreement states that research fellows will be chosen through a global competition on topics such as access to investment, youth employment, women's economic empowerment, and value-chain and governance reform. They will conduct policy research under the supervision of Joint-Secretary level officials from the relevant ministry for 3 to 6 months. Daayitwa Nepal has also stated its responsibility to compete globally by selecting ten topics on which 5 members of the parliament and 5 officials from the relevant ministries will participate.
Agrawal, founder and director of WorldLink Communications Limited, stated that the fellowship was provided to promote evidence-based policy and entrepreneurship in the country. 'We have assisted in policy reforms to develop entrepreneurship in order to provide employment to those who have gone abroad to study and to create a working environment for the youth who are about to go abroad.' "It will help inspire the youth in Nepal to do entrepreneurship," he said.
Malla, founder of Daayitwa Nepal, stated that the collaboration with WorldLink will foster trust between the youth and the government, allowing the youth to move forward with hope, enthusiasm, and change as economic governance grows.
WorldLink, which was founded in 1995, is Nepal's largest private sector internet and network service provider. Likewise, 141 young policy professionals from 30 countries have been supported by the fellowship program of Daayitwa Nepal over the last nine years (2013-2021) to conduct research projects for 51 government organizations and 24 parliamentarians at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
