Kathmandu University launches B.Tech. Ed-IT program in Janakpurdham, helps Madhesh Pradesh become a center of technical education in Nepal

Kathmandu University has launched a four-year Bachelor of Technical Education in Information Technology (B.Tech. Ed-IT) program in collaboration with Janaki College for Professional Studies in Janakpurdham, Madhesh Pradesh's capital. Chief Guest Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut announced it in Janakpurdham, expressing confidence that B.Tech. Ed-IT can help Madhesh Pradesh become a center of technical education in Nepal and also expressed gratitude to Kathmandu University for it.

He also stated that the program would aid Madhesh Pradesh's development by producing skilled manpower in areas with enormous potentials, such as information technology. The function was presided over by Janaki College President Pankaj Jalan, with Madhesh Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut as the chief guest. Dipendra Jha, Advocate General of Madhesh Pradesh, Lal Kishore Sah, Dean of School of Education Bal Chandra Luitel, and Binod Patan, Head of the Department of Steam Education, were all present at the event.

Janaki College is the Lord Buddha Education Foundation's first IT College in Nepal. The goal of the B.Tech. Ed-IT program is to train technical teachers in information technology. Eight semesters make up the four-year B.Tech. Ed-IT program. The program has a total load of 138 credit hours. This event will take place on the grounds of Akshar Vidya Mandir, Janakpurdham's first smart school. Beginning in the second year, students enrolled in this program will be required to go to schools for internship teaching.

This will make the government of Nepal's program worthwhile. One must have completed a 12 th grade or equivalent from any faculty, or a three-year diploma from CTEVT to be admitted to B.Tech. Ed-IT. Students will be chosen based on their performance in the Kathmandu University entrance examination. According to Pankaj Jalan, the college's president, the establishment of Janaki College will usher in a new era in the field of education in the state, with the goal of raising Madhesh Pradesh's literacy and educational levels.

It is not impossible to save the entire country from the 'brain drain' problem, as there is an opportunity to teach in a Madhesh Pradesh educational institution after completing four years of education. Bal Chandra Luitel, Dean of Kathmandu University's School of Education, expressed optimism that the program would help to alleviate the teacher shortage in technical schools.
