The fourth province-level Startup & Idea Fest 2022 and Digital Samvad 3.0 has been completed in Province 1. The event, which was organized with the joint collaboration of Living with ICT and ICT Foundation Nepal at the hall of industry association Morang in Biratnagar on Monday, drew more than 30 startups and ideas across the province.
18 startups based on innovation and idea pitched their projects during the Idea Pitching Session of the fest. Out of these, 7 ideas and startups have been selected for ‘Incubation', in which Food Delivery eCommerce Quikr Food has been selected as the best startup, while other 6 companies Trade Nepal Online, CuraHealth, Crisp Media Lab, Blood Connect, Hello Ambulance, Stem Skills are selected. All seven startups and ideas chosen from across the provinces will be taken to Kathmandu for business incubation, with assistance provided in raising funds from potential investors.
In addition, a series of provincial policy debates i.e. Digital Province 1 Samvad Session on the agenda of digitization and e-governance has also been held in Biratnagar. The Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Commission, Dr. Purna Kumar, Mayor of Belbari Municipality Gyanendra Subedi, Assistant Professor of Eastern University and Deputy Controller of Examinations Ajay Kumar Shah, Anil Sarada, CEO of Pioneer Electrocables Pvt. Ltd., Ekta Golchha, Director of Delta Tech and RK Golchha Group and Young Minds founder Dr. Abhijit Gupta was there in the samvad panel.
Dr. Prachanda Man Pradhan, Dean of Madanbhandari Polytechnic University, Chairman of Industries Association Morang Suyesh Pyakurel, Chief Minister and Secretary to the Office of the Council of Ministers Krishna Prasad Sapkota and distinguished personalities from various fields were also in attendance.Niraj Dahal, Province 1's Information Technology and E-Governance Specialist, and Prabhas Acharya, Founder of Sarathi Technosoft and Purwanchal Digital Media Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Acharya presented on the state and future of digitization during the samvad session.
Startup & Idea Fest 2022 and Digital Samvad 3.0 which started from Gandaki Province has already been completed in Lumbini and Madhesh Provinces as well. The fest and samvad sessions will begin in the third week of May in the other three provinces.
