OnePlus tablet rumors have been circulating for some time, but we now have some more information about the device's software. It appears like OnePlus will provide the device with Android 12L out of the box. According to a source, the OnePlus tablet will be dubbed the OnePlus Pad and will be released with Android L. The source also claims that the tablet will be released first in China.
The Android 12L OS is a version of Android designed primarily for bigger smartphones. The Android 12L user interface is also more optimized for multitasking. Android 12L, which is currently in development, is likely to be released as a stable OS for tablets later in Q1 2022. However, it is unknown what version of Android will be used on the tablet.
There is a vanilla version of Android 12L, as well as one skinned with a version of OxygenOS or ColorOS that is better suited for larger displays and will take advantage of the more on-screen real estate. Aside than that, not much is known about the gadget. According to the source, the OnePlus Pad would be available in Asian countries by the end of this quarter. The OnePlus Pad trademark was discovered on the website of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in a previous investigation.
Unfortunately, nothing more than the name was given, other than the file number 018504798. The OnePlus Pad might launch as a cheap tablet to compete with the Realme Pad, or as a more premium device to compete with the newly introduced Galaxy Tab S8. Perhaps we'll see numerous variations. For the time being, we will have to wait for some formal information to be issued on the subject.
