Google Pixel 6 Users Face Wi-Fi Issues after Latest Update, Fix Coming in March

According to the company, Pixel 6 owners will receive an update to resolve Wi-Fi issues that have plagued Google's latest smartphones. Users have reported Wi-Fi connectivity issues that occurred after installing the February 2022 monthly update and resetting the smartphone or network settings was reportedly a temporary workaround. While Google claims that only a small number of users are affected, the fix will not be available until the next monthly update, according to Google.

Google recently responded to a Reddit user who reported the constant shutting down of Wi-Fi on their Pixel 6 handset on 8 th of February, 2022. The user had noticed that the disconnection appeared to happen when the smartphone was asleep, and that it would have to be manually reconnected. The user later updated the post to reveal that they had not encountered the issue after using Android 12L Beta 3 for more than ten days.

"After some investigation, we discovered the root cause and discovered that it affects a very small number of devices." Of course, we recognize this is a negative experience and have developed a software fix that will be available in the next Google Pixel Update, which will be released in March," the company stated. Users who are affected by the issue will, unfortunately, have to wait until next month to receive a fix.

The Wi-Fi bug, discovered earlier in February, currently affects certain Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro owners, where the Wi-Fi is automatically turned off when the screen is turned off, and some users are unable to re-enable Wi-Fi connectivity. Users had taken to the community forums to complain about the broken Wi-Fi functionality, and they had tried workarounds such as disabling adaptive connections, resetting network settings, and even resetting their smartphones.

In late December, the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro were also reportedly plagued by camera and navigation bugs, as well as a bug that caused the smartphone to lose mobile network service. After reports of call drops surfaced, the December 2021 update for the smartphone was eventually halted.
