REDMI: Redmi Note 12 Pro+, Redmi Note 12 Pro specifications tipped prior to their launch

With the arrival of the Redmi Note 11 Pro in January 2022 and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G in March, Xiaomi's Redmi Note series has gotten a lot of attention recently. Rumours about the forthcoming Redmi Note 12 Pro series began to circulate just a few weeks after the Redmi Note 11 series was released in the market.

The rumored flagship was discovered on the TENAA certification website, complete with model number, battery specs, and display characteristics. While the Chinese smartphone maker has not provided any information about the projected series' release date, the TENAA listing implies that it will be released in China in 2022. The tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo uploaded images of the details suggested on TENAA listings.

The model number 22041216C is thought to be for the Redmi Note 12 Pro, while the model number 22041216UC is thought to be for the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. Both gadgets have identical dimensions and display sizes, according to the description.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro series is expected to have a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both variants are expected to ship with Android 12 OS pre-installed, as well as MIUI 13 on top. For both variants, the dimensions are estimated to be 163.64 x 74.29 x 8.8mm. The Redmi Note 12 Pro variant includes a 4,980mAh battery, which might facilitate rapid charging.

This might be similar to the 120W rapid charging Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. The device will be available in two storage configurations: a base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage, and an 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage variant. A similar storage arrangement is expected for the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ variant.

The battery, however, is expected to be less than that of the Redmi Note 12 Pro, which has a 4,300mAh battery. The next Redmi Note 12 series is likely to perform better than its predecessors, which might point to the usage of a MediaTek CPU rather than a Qualcomm chip. It's unclear if Xiaomi will use the Dimensity 1300 or the Dimensity 8000 SoC in the future Redmi Note 12 versions.
