Street Fighter 6 will be released in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. Capcom made the news during Sony's PlayStation State of Play event. Capcom is working on this game using the RE Engine, which has previously been utilized in titles such as Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village, and Devil May Cry 5. In addition, the Street Fighter 6 gameplay trailer was published, showcasing the latest Street Fighter game's distinct graphic design.
The teaser teases two new game modes as well as four new characters, including a brand-new combatant.
Furthermore, according to the PlayStation Blog article, Street Fighter 6 will include the iconic Arcade Mode, online matches, Training Mode, local versus clashes, and more as part of the Fighting Ground, as well as two new modes — World Tour and Battle Hub. World Tour will allow users to design their own avatar for a single-player story-driven game.
The Battle Hub will also serve as a forum for online matches, with unique communication and participation possibilities. Capcom is likely to divulge additional information about these modes in the run-up to the release of Street Fighter 6. These game options are included in the Street Fighter 6 gameplay trailer. It also confirms the return of Chun-Li, Ryu, and Luke to the fighting lineup. For Street Fighter 6, all of these characters have been revamped.
Jamie, a new fighter with a combat style based on inebriated boxing, has also been announced.
Near the end of the Street Fighter 6 teaser, another new fighter, Kimberly, was teased. With Street Fighter 6, Capcom introduced the Drive System. During the fight, players must now manage a Drive Guage, which allows them to use five offensive and defensive techniques: Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Overdrive Art, Drive Rush, and Drive Reversal.
In addition, Street Fighter 6 will have a Modern Control Type geared towards novice or rusty players. With this control method, gamers will be able to perform intricate character maneuvers with ease. The Classic Control Type will also be accessible for more experienced players. The Street Fighter 6 developer is also collaborating with prominent members in the Fight Game Community (FGC) to add Real-Time Commentary to the game.
