Huawei Technology Nepal wins National ICT Award 2021 (Private Sector), Special Contribution to Nepal\'s Information Technology

Huawei Technology has been awarded the Nepal National ICT Award 2021 (Private Sector).

The government on Sunday announced the winners of the ICT Award 2021, saying that Huawei Technology has been honored with the 'National ICT Award 2021, Private Sector' for its special contribution to Nepal's information and Communication technology.

Huawei Technology, world renowned in the field of information and communication technology, has been providing various state-of-the-art services in the field of communication in Nepal through Huawei Technologies Nepal Company for over 20 years.

In 2000, the company helped to launch a second-generation mobile service through Nepal Telecom. As a vendor, Huawei Nepal has made significant contributions to the 3G expansion with the co-operation with Ncell in 2010 and the launch of 4G services across the country in 2017 in collaboration with Nepal Telecom.

Huawei Technology Nepal's contribution in the use of high level technology and technology along with the transfer of such technology has been important for the social and economic transformation of the country.

Huawei has been assisting in the construction of more than 15,000 base station sites along with the wireless base station at Everest Base Camp. The company has been cooperating in the sectors like telecom, airlines and banking for digital transformation.

Huawei is a leading tech company internationally, promoting 5G as a foundation for digital transformation.

Huawei is acting as a bridge for technical resources in the local ICT industry. Huawei Nepal has restored 390 base stations in just a few hours during the time of earthquake which occurred in 12 th Baisakh, 2072 and immediately resumed communications.

The company is working to lay the groundwork to create a digital infrastructure and digital foundation to cope up with the Government of Nepal's objective of Digital Nepal.

The company, which provides direct and indirect communication and other technical services to more than 25 million Nepalese, has solely paid more than Rs 300 million income tax to the government last year.
