According to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp beta tracker, WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.21.21.2 has references to the new profile photo privacy feature. According to a screenshot supplied by the source, the new privacy option for the profile photo would be My contacts except..., which is accessible alongside the existing Everyone, My contacts, and Nobody privacy choices. The new feature will allow you to choose certain contacts from the list of individuals who will be able to see your profile photo.
According to WABetaInfo, the My contacts except... option will not be restricted to the profile photo privacy setting, but will also be accessible for Last Seen and About status updates.
