According to Canalys, Samsung was still the king of worldwide smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2021, with a 23 percent market share. It has the same market share in the second quarter of 2020, as previously stated. Due to component shortages, the worldwide smartphone market shrank by 6%, according to the research. Apple, on the other hand, boosted its market share of smartphone shipments from 12% to 15% year over year. Xiaomi came in second with a 14 percent market share, which remained unchanged from the previous quarter.
Vivo and Oppo, each with a 10% market share, rounded out the top five smartphone manufacturers. In Q3 2021, both Chinese firms experienced a one percent rise in smartphone shipments year over year. According to a recent analysis from Counterpoint, Apple maintained the market's top operational profit and revenue producer in Q2 2021. As previously stated, it accounted for 75% of the global smartphone market's operational profit and 40% of its sales. According to the study, the debut of Apple's initial 5G-enabled iPhone models was the key to the company's success.
Furthermore, Apple goods' compatibility persuades customers to stay in the Apple ecosystem.
