Apple's newest operating system, macOS Monterey, began rolling out to all Mac devices. Monterey, which was unveiled in June at Apple's WWDC 2021 event in Cupertino, is the successor to last year's macOS Big Sur. The updated macOS has a revamped Safari and "exciting new" FaceTime improvements, among its many new features. It also has useful functions like Universal Control, Focus, and Shortcuts. With macOS Monterey, Apple is especially focusing on multi-device use, since it promises a more fluid experience than previous versions.
The Big Sur's predecessor, macOS Monterey, didn't quite follow in its footsteps. While Big Sur gave the UI a makeover, macOS Monterey is primarily concerned with improving the overall user experience. Monterey's Universal Control feature encourages customers to utilize more Apple products by allowing them to use several devices at the same time, such as an iPad, MacBook, iMac, or even an Apple Pencil. For example, if you use an Apple Pencil on an iPad to draw or take notes on a Keynote presentation, it will appear on your Mac system. MacOS Monterey also adds AirPlay to Mac computers to encourage even greater interconnection.
So, with the speedy, wireless connection, you can now blast your favorite tracks via your powerful iMac speakers. Of course, you can exchange information between Apple devices using AirPlay. For those who FaceTime frequently, Apple has added spatial audio capabilities to the conversations, as well as a new Grid View that highlights the speaker for everyone's benefit. Because of the new voice isolation function on microphones, which brings your speech "front and center" during conversations, chats will now be free of most background noise. Safari users may now benefit from a neater interface thanks to the new Tab Groups feature, which allows them to store and manage many tabs under a single title.
Tab Groups will also synchronize across all devices, making working easier. The Shortcuts feature in macOS Monterey operates similarly to its iPhone and iPad counterparts, allowing you to automate operations on your Mac. Users can customize Shortcuts to fit their own duties and requirements. All Mac computers, including the iMac (late 2015 and later), MacBook Air (early 2015 and later), and Mac mini, get a free update to macOS Monterey (late 2014 and later). You should receive the update automatically. Go to System Preferences > Software Update to get the update.
