Windows 10 Users to Receive PC Health Check App as a Native Update, With New Features

Microsoft is bringing its PC Health Check software to older Windows 10 PCs, along with a dashboard to let you monitor your system's health and fix issues to enhance performance. The program was initially created to allow users to see if their PCs could be upgraded to Windows 11. The original PC Health Check program was removed by Microsoft after a debate arose regarding the system requirements.

However, it has just returned with essential changes to tell customers about their PCs' ability to upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft has announced that the PC Health Check software will be available for PCs running Windows 10, version 2004 and later, according to a support website. The program will be accessible through Windows Update for all eligible PCs, but users may also manually download it from the Windows Update Catalogue.

According to Microsoft's support website, "PC Health Check offers diagnostics to monitor device health and troubleshooting to optimize performance, all from the comfort of a single dashboard." The PC Health Check program includes features such as the ability to compare battery capacity to the original as well as storage utilization for the primary drive, which contains files, applications, and Windows. Users may also adjust starting programs and get recommendations on how to optimize their PC's general health and performance.

All of these capabilities are accompanied by "a complete eligibility check based on the minimal system requirements for Windows 11," which informs customers whether their computers are capable of being upgraded to the most recent Windows version. The software also includes information on backing up and syncing user data with Microsoft OneDrive, as well as keeping you up to date on Windows 10 if you aren't upgrading to Windows 11 for whatever reason. According to ZDNet, Microsoft has said on the support website that the PC Health Check software would automatically install crucial application updates when they are available by default.

This also implies that consumers will not be able to disable automatic updates. Although the PC Health Check app will be available through Windows Update to a large number of Windows 10 users, Microsoft has included a means to manually delete the program if you don't want to use its capabilities. Go to Apps > Apps & Features > Software list (Windows PC Health Check) > Delete to uninstall the app. PC Health Check was first introduced earlier this year as a tool to determine whether or not a computer was eligible for Windows 11. Microsoft re-released the app last month after it was pulled shortly after its first release due to controversy about the program's failure to provide appropriate Windows 11 requirements in some circumstances.
