Users of PlayStation 5 consoles may now access Apple Music. Sony has revealed that PS5 owners will be able to listen to music via Apple's streaming service, similar to what Spotify offers on both PlayStation and Xbox. Players will be able to listen to music while playing games or just play their favorite songs through the app. Apple Music customers may now search for and view music videos directly on the console, according to Sony. There is currently no word on when Apple's music streaming service will be accessible on Xbox platforms.
In a blog post, Sony revealed the PlayStation 5's inclusion with Apple Music. The music streaming service from Apple was made accessible to PS5 gamers on October 27th, according to the Japanese tech giant. The Apple Music app for PS5 will allow players to listen to over 90 million songs, dozens of playlists, 4K music videos, and Apple Music Radio. In addition, players will be able to listen to music in the background, as well as watch music videos.
When a player minimizes an Apple Music music video, the audio continues to play in the background, and when the video is restarted, the audio and visual combine smoothly for uninterrupted viewing. By going to the Music Function card in the Control Center and pushing the 'PS' button on their controllers, PS5 gamers will be able to listen to tunes from Apple Music while playing a game. Alternatively, music may be listened by going straight to the app. Apple Music will also provide recommendations based on the game the user is currently playing, or the user may pick from their own playlists or Apple Music-curated gaming playlists. In order to install Apple Music on a PS5, Sony also detailed how to install Apple Music on PS5 consoles.
From the media home, choose All Apps. Select Download from the Apple Music menu. Launch the Apple Music app. Enter your account information to sign up or log in. To link your account, follow the steps on the screen. It's worth noting that Apple Music integration is now limited to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition owners. There's no word on whether Apple's music streaming service will be offered on PlayStation 4 systems. As previously stated, there is no word on whether Apple Music will be available on Xbox platforms.
