Bhatbhateni Supermarket will accept QR code payments from today onwards. Bhatbhateni has launched a QR payment solution in partnership with Prabhu Bank. The QR was inaugurated by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari.

Governor Adhikari remarked after the inauguration that cash transactions would be exceedingly inconvenient, and that paying with QR would save time and ensure secure transactions.

The governor stated that the QR will help not only users but also the business community, adding that business would speed up. "Banks are classifying clients using artificial intelligence," he explained. "They're putting together databases." It examines the customer's spending habits. Customers may be able to receive an unsecured loan from the bank in the future, according to the governor. He advocated for QR payments in the future, claiming that it would benefit "those who can't show even if they have money." Governor Adhikari launched the QR payment service for the first time on 25 th of December last year.

Governor Adhikari remarked after the inauguration that cash transactions would be exceedingly inconvenient, and that paying with QR would save time and ensure secure transactions.

Governor Adhikari noted that he has used less cash since then and that the NRB and the government have taken steps to develop a payments environment. According to Min Bahadur Gurung, chairman of Bhatbhateni, QR payment service would be offered in all outlets in the next days to assist the government's and NRB's cashless effort. On Thursday, the service began in the Bhatbhateni store in Tangal. Gurung stated that QR payments would be promoted to his 1 million members. In addition, he said that customers who pay with QR will earn a 25% bonus on their points. After a specific period of time, free purchase coupons become accessible as the points accumulate.

Ashok Sherchan, the Chief Executive Officer of Prabhu Bank, stated that the current era is centered on technology, and that boosting its use would benefit the formal sector and make transactions more transparent. Shobha Kant Poudel, Director General of Inland Revenue, stated that when electronic payments become more transparent, the state will receive tax as well.
