Jetson Flying Car Takes Personal Flight to a New Level: a DIY Electric Aerial Vehicle

Many major competitors in the burgeoning electric flying vehicle sector are attempting to change the mass transportation business, but a Swedish firm has proposed a more straightforward objective. It wants everyone to be able to build and fly about in their own personal electric aerial vehicle. It uploaded a video on YouTube last week showing the plane ready to fly.

It's a single-seater vehicle called Jetson One. Jetson One's small size allows it to take off and land almost anyplace, including a residential garden or even a terrace. It weights 190 pounds (86 kilograms) and can hold a maximum weight of 210 pounds (95kg). The Jetson One will cost $92,000 and will be delivered partially constructed to the buyer. As a result, the remainder of the job will have to be completed from home. A step-by-step instruction will be included in the package to help you complete the assembly.

The aircraft can fly for 20 minutes at a peak speed of 64 mph on a single battery (102kmph). For safety reasons, the speed is regulated by software. It is powered by a lithium-ion high-discharge battery. In the event of an emergency, the aircraft will be equipped with a ballistic parachute with a quick deployment time. According to the corporation, production will begin in the summer of 2022, with the first shipment expected later that year. However, all 12 production spots for the next year have been filled, and anyone interested in submitting would have to wait until 2023.

A payment of $22,000 is required to reserve a construction slot for a potential buyer. The lightweight vehicle will feature four rotors on its edges and an all-aluminum chassis to keep the weight down, according to a video published last week. In 2017, Peter Ternstrom and Tomasz Patan launched Jetson, and construction on the prototype began soon after. In January 2018, the prototype had its maiden successful flight. Following that, the business began development on Jetson One, its second-generation prototype.
