Meta Workplace Social Network Integrates With Microsoft Teams

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, said that Workplace, its work-focused version of the social network, will be integrated with Microsoft's collaboration software Teams, allowing users to better exchange information across the two platforms today. Users will be able to share material from Workplace's newsfeed and groups into Microsoft's Teams platform as a result of the improvements.

Users will soon be able to livestream video from Teams into Workplace groups, according to the company. During the COVID-19 epidemic, remote-working tools have become indispensable to businesses. In an interview, Ujjwal Singh, the CEO of Workplace, said, "You have to meet them where they're immediately, wherever they're doing their job, whatever platforms they're most utilizing."

The integration, he claimed, was primarily aimed at consumers of both products. Workplace, the Silicon Valley corporation's internal messaging board, was started five years ago outside of the company. Frances Haugen, a former Meta employee and whistleblower, recently revealed confidential Meta presentations and discussions. Walmart and Deliveroo are among the firms that utilize the program.

Workplace has 7 million paying customers, according to Meta. Microsoft and Facebook are both developing virtual reality solutions for remote working. Facebook recently changed its name to Meta to signify its concentrate on the metaverse. Microsoft revealed this week that its virtual platform Mesh will be integrated into Microsoft Teams next year. Horizon Workrooms, a remote work software for users of Meta's VR headsets, was recently released as a beta test.
