The Google Fit app is rumored to be introducing heart rate and respiratory tracking features to the Pixel 6. These capabilities were previously only accessible on the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a, but they are now apparently available to Pixel 6 customers as well. It is believed to have passed the "early access" stage and is now being rolled out to the general public.
Separately, with the recent Google Photos update, a small number of Pixel 6 customers have reported that the Magic Eraser function has vanished. The software measures heart rate and breathing rate using the phone's camera.
This function is supposedly "not for medical use" and is "being fine-tuned and may be withdrawn," according to Google. The findings of the heart rate tracking feature were accurate and matched those of a Fitbit tracker and a Pixel 5 in a "well-lit environment," according to the research. In a darkened environment, however, the reading was around 30 beats per minute off. Users of the Pixel 6 may verify if they have the functionality by navigating to Browse > Vitals in Google Fit. Furthermore, with the newest Google Photos app update, some Pixel 6 users are complaining that the Magic Eraser option has been disabled. Users may use this tool to eliminate undesired things from photographs. However, according to Android Central, the handy function has been deleted from the Google Photos app version 5.67 for a number of Pixel 6 users. The update is no longer being rolled out, but users who haven't updated their Google Photos app may still utilize the Magic Eraser function on their Pixel 6.
