Instagram is Reportedly Testing Adding Moderator to Live Videos; Stories May Soon Get Like Button

Instagram is working on a new feature that will allow users to add a moderator to their live videos. Only the person who launched the live on the social network may control it at the moment. A well-known developer on Twitter was the first to notice the planned Instagram feature.

According to him, the functionality is now undergoing testing. Instagram is also rumored to be rolling out the option to like Stories. Both features are likely to take some time to reach a larger audience. With a series of mockups on Twitter, noted developer Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) has suggested that Instagram is working on a new feature that allows producers to add a moderator when doing live videos. However, according to Paluzzi's screenshot, the social media site would only allow the author to add one moderator to a live video from their 'who's watching' list. Only the host who launched the live may handle it right now.

A moderator's main job is to assist the live host in managing the comments. According to 9to5Mac, the moderator will be able to turn off comments, requests to go live, queries, and more with the new capability. Instagram is also rumored to be testing the ability to like Stories. According to reports, Instagram began testing this functionality in August of this year. Paluzzi offered a second screenshot in a different tweet that illustrates how the Like button would appear in the viewer list. Users can now only respond to Stories that appear in their direct messages.

There's no word on when Instagram's Like function will be available to the general public, although engineers are believed to be working on it. Meta (previously Facebook) has just added a slew of new capabilities to its photo-sharing platform. Collabs, which debuted in October, allow two users to collaborate on the same piece of material. Users may co-author Feed articles and Reels with others, and the names of both creators will show in the post's header. Instagram has added the ability for users to publish photographs and videos directly from their web browsers.
