Facebook Testing Split Payments Feature In Messenger for Users To Share Bills Digitally

Facebook Messenger now includes a new Split Payments option, according to Meta. As the name implies, this function allows you to calculate and divide expenditures with others straight from Facebook Messenger. This feature simply aims to make it simpler to split the cost of bills and costs with friends, such as splitting a dinner bill. Facebook Messenger users will be able to divide bills evenly or change the contribution for each individual, including their own, using the new Split Payment function.

The firm announced the new Split Payment option in Facebook Messenger in a blog post. According to 9to5Mac, the new bill splitting tool is still in testing and will initially be available only to US customers. Early next week, the deployment will begin. It will, as previously said, allow users to split the cost of bills, costs, and payments. This function is especially helpful for people who live in a shared property and must divide monthly rent and other expenditures with their roommates.

It might also come in helpful for a large group supper. Split Payments allows customers to input the number of persons with whom the expenditure must be shared, and the amount entered will be divided in equal parts by default. Each user's input, including their own, can be modified by the user. To utilize Split Payments, go to the Payments Hub in Messenger or click the Get Started button in a group conversation. In the Split Payments option, users can change their contribution and send a notification to all users who need to make payments.

The request will be delivered and displayed in the group chat thread when you input a personalized message and confirm your Facebook Pay information. You may designate someone's transaction as 'finished' once they've made the payment. The Split Payment function will automatically determine the amount payable after taking into account your part.
