The emoji 'face with tears of joy' is ranked highest, followed by'red heart.' 'Rolling on the floor laughing' is the third sport, followed by 'thumbs up,' and 'loud weeping face,' which is the fifth.

Although the Unicode Consortium has not provided statistics for 2020, the top 10 emojis in 2019 were quite comparable. 'Folded hands' is ranked sixth in a list of the most popular emojis this year, identical to 2019. From ninth place two years ago, the 'face blowing a kiss' emoji has climbed to seventh place. The 'two hearts' emoji has been replaced with the'smiling face with hearts' emoji in the top ten emoji list. In 2019, the emoji'happy face with smiling eyes' dropped to tenth place from fifth place in 2018.

In 2021, the emoji for "two hearts" has dropped to 16th place. The top 200 list, according to Unicode, features larger jumps. The most improved emoji was the 'birthday cake' emoji, which rose from 113 to 25th place. The 'balloon' emoji has moved up to 48th place from 139th place, while the 'pleading face' emoji has moved up to 14th place from 97th place.

The 'rocket ship' emoji is the most popular in the transportation category, while the 'flexed bicep' emoji is the most popular in the body part category. The most popular plant flower emoji is 'bouquet,' and the most common animal emoji is 'butterfly.' Although the 'person executing cartwheel' is not the most popular sport in the world, it is the most common 'person-sport' associated with pleasure and joy.
