Strategy Analytics: Honor Tops Q3 2021 5G Growth, Apple Sold Most 5G Smartphones in Q3 2021

According to a recent analysis from Strategy Analytics, Apple sold the most 5G-enabled devices internationally in Q3 2021. Apple's advantage over the competition is clear only a few months after the firm released its current iPhone 13 series on September 14, while also lowering the pricing of its first 5G-enabled devices, the iPhone 12 series.

Meanwhile, according to the research organization, Xiaomi, Samsung, and Oppo were the businesses that delivered the most 5G-enabled Android handsets in the third quarter. Apple accounted for a quarter of all worldwide 5G shipments in Q3 2021, according to Strategy Analytics. While Apple sold the most 5G devices internationally, Xiaomi, which introduced various handsets under the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco brands this year, is Apple's closest Android opponent.

However, because to heightened competition, Xiaomi's year-over-year performance for Q3 2021 has stagnated, according to the study. While Xiaomi's growth may have slowed following a surge in Q2 2021, Strategy Analytics reports that Samsung has had significant growth in Europe, while Oppo has seen growth in China. Following the arrival of the high-end Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the more economical A-Series smartphones, Samsung surpassed Oppo to become the second-leading 5G Android smartphone provider behind Xiaomi in Q3 2021.

On the 5G front, Honor was the brand that increased the quickest quarter-over-quarter. Honor was once a Huawei sub-brand, but the latter sold Honor this year to avoid US penalties. According to the survey, Honor's most popular 5G capable smartphones in Q3 2021 were the Honor 50 5G, Honor 50 SE, and Honor 50 Pro 5G, which helped the company gain popularity in China.
