Halo Infinite is getting a hotfix for 12-player Big Team Battle matchmaking

Halo Infinite will receive an update soon that contains a remedy for the multiplayer mode's matchmaking bug in Big Team Battle (BTB). The hotfix's release date has not yet been revealed by the game's developer, 343 Industries. The creators are also working on preventing cheating in Halo Infinite's multiplayer mode, and a patch is expected to be published in February.

The multiplayer mode in Halo Infinite is free to play and cross-platform. Halo Infinite won the Player's Voice category at the Game Awards 2021 in December 2020. Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries said in a blog post that a remedy for the 12-player BTB multiplayer mode's matchmaking bug will be released soon. However, the developer has not stated when the hotfix would be available for PC and Xbox users, just that it is nearing completion.

Larger fireteams and an increasing number of players have a low likelihood of entering a match together in BTB mode. 343 Industries also stated that the BTB mode update for Halo Infinite is now undergoing internal testing, and that no difficulties have been detected. "It won't be this week, but we hope it's not too far off," the developer stated, "and we'll publish an update as soon as we have line of sight on a release date (after we clear 'certification,' we'll be ready to ship)."

Other faults with Halo Infinite have also been addressed by the developer. It claims that it is striving to reduce cases of cheating in multiplayer mode. It plans to deploy a fix in mid-February to address the concerns with cheating and wonkiness. The open beta test for Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer mode began in November. According to reports, gamers encountered certain issues at first, which were later fixed.
