SAMSUNG: Samsung Galaxy S22 European price leak suggests a base Ultra model with less RAM

Roland Quandt, a trusted leaker, has revealed potential European price details for the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy S22 series, as reported by Android Police. Samsung appears to have kept the same pricing as the previous S21 series, with the exception of an equally-priced S22 Ultra model that allegedly has less RAM than its S21 predecessor. The S22 will cost 849€ ($963), the S22 Plus will cost 1,049€ ($1,190), while the basic S22 Ultra will cost 1,249€ ($1,417), according to Quandt.

All of the series' base versions appear to feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage — the normal S22 and S22 Plus have a higher-priced 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage option, while the S22 Ultra has two further tiers with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. These pricing are the same as the S21 devices, however as Android Police points out, Quandt's leak suggests the basic S22 Ultra will only have 8GB of RAM instead of the 12GB seen in the S21 Ultra.

Despite this, the S22 Ultra might cost the same as the S21 Ultra – a 100€ premium will buy you the extra 4GB you're missing out on. You can preorder a Galaxy S22 smartphone before it's even introduced at Samsung's Unpacked event in February, and you'll get a $50 discount. The S22 apparently starts at $899, the S22 Plus at $1,099, and the S22 Ultra at $1,299. According to Android Police, US pricing details for the smartphones leaked earlier this month, with the base S22 purportedly beginning at $899, the S22 Plus at $1,099, and the S22 Ultra at $1,299.

If these prices are correct, this would result in a $100 rise for everyone. There's been a lot of leaked information on the S22 series going around the internet, giving us a very good idea of what the lineup may look like. Previous leaks have revealed an S22 Ultra that looks like the rumored discontinued Note (complete with a pen), as well as an unpacking video that purports to show all three S22 fake units.
