Mega Bank Nepal Limited has officially started using QR code payment technology to pay fares in taxis at Biratnagar Airport.
Meena Pandey, Chief Director, Nepal Rastra Bank, Biratnagar Office, launched the service who also handed out QR codes to taxi drivers affiliated with Airport Taxi Promotion Center Private Limited.
Mega Bank expressed its confidence in the facility in a press release issued on Thursday, stating that it will relieve passengers traveling to the airport from the hassle of paying the fare in cash.
The QR codes were distributed to taxis in coordination with the Airport Taxi Promotion Center, according to Binod Raj Thapa, branch manager at Mega Bank, Devkota Chowk, Biratnagar. He also stated that taxis have been given the QR code in order to digitize the airport.
