Huawei Squeezes into Top 10 Most Valuable Brands of 2022: How it managed to do so?

Counterpoint Research announced earlier this week that Huawei had slipped out of the Top 5 smartphone brands in China as of Q4 2021. In comparison to its 23 percent market share in Q4 2020, the corporation now only has 7% of the Chinese smartphone market, a threefold decrease from the previous year. Despite this, Huawei's overall market value remained stable. Instead, the company's worth has risen to become one of the top ten most valuable brands in the world by 2022.

Huawei reposted a research from Brand Finance, one of the world's premier brand value consultants based in London, on Twitter lately. Huawei says in the Twitter post that, despite numerous unanticipated hurdles, the business has managed to enhance its rankings in the world's most valuable in 2022. For context, the company was ranked as the 15th most valuable brand in 2021, but in 2022, it jumped 6 spots to become the 9th most valuable brand among 500 other international brands. Huawei was supposed to be worth $71.2 billion. Brand Finance's research is available for download at brandirectory.com.

According to the analysis, Apple will be the most valuable brand in 2022, with a worth of 355.1 billion dollars. The three other US tech behemoths, Amazon ($350.3 billion), Google ($263.4 billion), and Microsoft ($111.9 billion), came in second and third, respectively. Other tech corporations include Samsung, which is ranked 6th with a value of 107.3 billion dollars, Facebook, which is ranked 7th with a value of 101.2 billion dollars, and Verizon, which is ranked 10th with a value of 69.6 billion dollars. So, while having supply challenges as a result of US sanctions, how did Huawei manage to improve its brand value? Despite the fact that Huawei's smartphone market share has plummeted, the company's other businesses are booming.

Huawei has been extending out into other areas, including as Smart TVs, Smartwatches, and Smart Electric Cars, since being constrained by US sanctions. The AITO M5 is the first model in Huawei's luxury hybrid electric smart car line, AITO, which was developed in collaboration with the renowned automotive manufacturer Seres. Richard Yu, a Huawei executive, stated that by broadening Huawei's product catalog to include vehicles, the company's retail operation in China may thrive, as automotive profit margins per unit are often larger than luxury cellphones. "With the appeal of the Huawei AITO M5 smart cars and its countywide sales network, Huawei will be able to sell 300,000 smart cars in 2022," Richard asserts.
