Bloomberg’s Gurman: MacBook Air with M2 said to be delayed to second Half of 2022!!!

According to reports, Apple has postponed the release of its new MacBook Air with M2 processor until later this year. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who noted in his Power On newsletter that he does not anticipate Apple to upgrade its high-end 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models this year, the firm may not unveil the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models until 2023.

Around the middle of the year, more than two new Mac gadgets will be released. According to Gurman, at least two or three new Mac products would be released around the middle of the year, including M2 versions of the MacBook Air, Mac mini, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac. According to Gurman, an iMac with Apple's "Pro" CPUs is in the works, but neither it nor the new MacBook Pro will be available anytime soon.

It's also possible that Apple is delaying the release of the new MacBook Pro until the M2 Ultra and a dual M2 Ultra — both M2 chip upgrades — are ready. Gurman also suggested that Apple was working on a MacBook Pro with 40 CPU cores and 128 graphics cores, which would be twice as fast as the M1 Ultra. The MacBook Pro will be the final new Mac to use Apple's new silicon.

As a result, Apple appears to be planning a series of new MacBook models utilizing the M2 CPU for late 2022. This might follow in the footsteps of Apple's M1 MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and entry-level Mac mini, which were released in November 2020, indicating that the company's M-series CPUs have a two-year upgrade cycle.
