According to a source, the iPhone 14 Pro would start at $100 more than the iPhone 13 Pro. It also claims that owing to increased production expenses, the price gap between the upcoming iPhone 14 Max model and the iPhone 14 Pro might be more than $100. Meanwhile, on Twitter, a developer provided a prototype iPhone 14 Pro that shows how the pill-shaped hole-punch cutout would look.
If the iPhone 14 series sports a hole-punch cutout, Face ID would most likely be hidden behind the display as per a recent source. The iPhone 14 will start at $799, the iPhone 14 Max will start at $899, the iPhone 14 Pro will start at $1,099, and the top-end iPhone 14 Pro Max will cost $1,199 as per a tweet from tipster LeaksApplePro.
When the tipster mentions the iPhone 14 Max, it's unclear exactly model he's referring about, given there is no direct predecessor for such a product - no iPhone 13 Max. The tipster also claims that production costs are rising, and that "the gap between the [iPhone] 14 Max and the [iPhone] 14 Pro has to be more than $100." Meanwhile, a developer called Jeff Grossman shared a model of the iPhone 14 Pro with a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout on Twitter.
This isn't the first time that information concerning the iPhone 14 series' hole-punch display has surfaced. In March of last year, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo discussed it. Later claims surfaced, with some suggesting the design for Pro versions and others alleging Apple Face ID technology will be hidden.
