Fonepay reaches an agreement with Khalti, shares the same goal of making Digital Nepal working together

Fonepay Payment Services Limited, Nepal's leading payment system operator, and Khalti, a payment service provider that has been speeding up digital transactions in recent days, have reached an agreement. Deputy Chief Executive Diwas Sapkota and Chief Executive Officer Binay Khadka signed the agreement on behalf of Fonepay and Khalti, respectively on Monday. Khalti has now joined the Fonepay network as a result of the agreement. Pocket users will now be able to pay with ease using the Fonepay QR code. This partnership is expected to be a watershed moment for Nepal's fintech and digital industries.

Diwas Sapkota, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Fonepay, spoke at the event and stated, "The battle between the two companies is over cash." Our collaboration will help us achieve our common goal of creating a cash-free economy. "This collaboration will benefit not only the pocket phone users, but also the direct users of more than 2 million pockets and millions of indirect people," said Binay Khadka, Chief Executive Officer of Khalti. We are confident that this collaboration will contribute to the ecosystem's credibility and empowerment. We share the same goal of making Digital Nepal, and we're working together to achieve it."

Fonepay, which was founded two years ago with the goal of creating a Digital Nepal, now has over 550,000 merchants. Fonepay has been used by more than 15 million bank and financial institution mobile banking users, as well as payment service providers. 60 banks and financial institutions have joined the Fonepay network in the last two years. Fonepay is a PC IDSSV3.2 One (PCIDSSv3.2.1) certified organization that follows the 'Payment Card Industry Data Security Criteria' data security standard.

Khalti, which began operations in 2017, has been a successful brand in establishing a unique and innovative identity in the Nepali fintech industry. Pocket Digital Wallet has been providing digital payment and money exchange services of 60,000+ services by paying bills such as mobile and TV recharge, flight and movie ticket booking, insurance premiums, and online shopping sites to over 2 million direct and indirect users. Furthermore, by offering various cashbacks and discounts, it has assisted users in saving both time and money.
